Vernal Senator Is Educator One of the "freshman" members mem-bers of the 26th Utah legislature will be H. Grant Vest, Democratic Democra-tic senator-elect from the Fifth district, comprising Uintah and Duchesne counties. Mr. Vest is superintendent of the Uintah school district and says that naturally his chief interest in-terest in the forthcoming session ses-sion will be school legislation. He is particularly anxious that the legislature do something to bring about a greater degree of equalization. i "This is necessary", he declares, de-clares, "because the taxable wealth of Utah is so inequitably, inequit-ably, distributed". He Is a member mem-ber of the special committee appointed ap-pointed by the governor to study school equalization. In addition to his school connection, con-nection, Mr. Vest is a member of Uintah L D S stake presidency and a director of the Uintah State bank, Vernal. |
