Show Mayor Linck First President Of Mail Carriers' Group The Utah branch of the National Na-tional Star-Route Mail Carriers' Association was formed over the week-end at a meeting held in Hotel Utah, Salt Lake City, with 60 star-route mail carriers from throughout the state attending. William H. Linck, mayor of Myton, was named first president presi-dent of the carriers' Utah branch. The new chapter, the 46th to join the national association, adds Utah's mail carriers to a group that now numbers more than 5,000 men. The purpose of the association, according to Linck, is to unite the mail carriers of the nation into a single, cooperative group, lie emphasizes, however, it is not a labor union. Other officers elected at the meeting were Owen V. George, Delta, vice president, and Giles L. Framplon, Clearfield, secretary-treasurer. Percy Boston, national vice-president vice-president of the association, presided pre-sided at the organization meeting. |
