Burton, contact representative repre-sentative of the Veterans Administration Ad-ministration for the Uintah Basin, Ba-sin, today called to the attention of .veterans the law recently signed by President Truman, providing for additional benefits bene-fits under national service life insurance. "There are several important features to this new law, features fea-tures which all veterans should consider carefully," advised Mr. Burton. "The first is the provision provis-ion which extends until-August 1, 1947 the privilege of reinstating reinstat-ing term insurance without a 1 physical examination. Under this I section the veteran need only sign a statement that his health is as good now as when his insurance in-surance lapsed, and pay two monthly premiums for reinstatement." reinstate-ment." According to the Veterans Administration, Ad-ministration, one of these payments pay-ments takes care of the 31 day grace period following the lapse of the policy. The other premium pays for the month in which the policy is reinstated. "A veteran may reinstate as little as $1000 worth of insurance, insur-ance, and any additional amount he desires in multiples of $500 up to the allowable $10,000," Mr. Burton pointed' out. A further provision, as outlined out-lined by Burton, makes it possible pos-sible for veterans who carried no national service life insurance insur-ance while in the armed forces to now apply and take out a permanent insurance policy. Htf listed several types of insurance insur-ance for which such veterans may make application, including: includ-ing: ordinary life, 30-year pay, 20-year pay, 20-year endowment, endowment at age 60, and endowment en-dowment at age 65. "Every veteran will be benefiting bene-fiting himself if he will act now to obtain national service life insurance while the rates are exceptionally ex-ceptionally low," Mr. Burton stated. To facilitate the handling of new policy applications, and the reinstatement of old ones, Mr. Burton advises that he will be at his office in the Shurtleff Hotel in Roosevelt every Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. A clerk-stenographer will be in the office from Monday Mon-day through Friday, and until 1 p. m, each Saturday. |
