The second of such bills to be introduced in Washington in less than a year, the Watkins bill asks $100,000 more than the bill presented last spring by Congressman Con-gressman Granger Word of the new high school bill was received by the Roosevelt Roose-velt Standard early in the week in a wire from Senator Watkins, which said: "Senator Arthur V. Watkins introduced a bill, SB. 805, authorizing an appropriation appropria-tion of $250,000 for the construction, con-struction, extension and improvement im-provement of a high school building build-ing near Roosevelt. Utah, for the district embracing the east portion of Duchesne and the west portion of Uintah counties. Expenditure of the funds to be supervised by Commissioner of Indian Affairs, but actual work shall proceed under the direction direc-tion of local and state officials. School available to all Indian Children on same terms as other children of such school district." T THE" high school bill, which was referred to the Committee on Public Lands, provides that the expenditure of any moneys under the terms of the bill shall be subject to the condition that the Duchesne and Uintah counties coun-ties school authorities shall take all necessary steps under the laws of Utah, to provide any and all additional funds required to complete the construction, extension ex-tension and improvement of the proposed high school building. Plans and specifications for the high school, according to the bill will be furnished by local or state school authorities with-out with-out cost to the United States, and submitted to the Commissioner Commis-sioner of Indian Affairs, who will have supervision of all expenditures, ex-penditures, for approval. The bill concludes with the provision that after completion of the high school, its maintenance mainten-ance will be the responsibility of the school district concerned.
