To accomplish this, work crews will be formed and the present asphalt surface chipped off preparatory to pouring cement ce-ment with tar strips to be used for markings. Unofficial sanction has been given the club. Recognition and approval of projects await action of the city council, which is expected ex-pected to turn over full responsibility respon-sibility to the Tennis club for maintenance and management of the courts, in return giving the club exclusive rights to the facilities. fa-cilities. Last summer the city council voted to light the courts and ordered necessary equipment. However, funds .were withheld for this project and the courts-remained courts-remained unlighted. Contributions Contribu-tions will be sought to obtain the necessary $200 with which to purchase the lights. Completion of work on the courts has been set for mid-August. |
