Zella Rust returned home after af-ter a visit at Malad, Idaho, with her sister, Mable, and infant son, Adrean, who accompanied her home for an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Rust. Arnold Mecham and Maxine Snyder are being married in the L D S Temple at Salt Lake Monday, Mon-day, February 28. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup made a business trip to Roosevelt Roose-velt Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrand Mecham Me-cham and daughter, Shirley, spent the day with their daugh-i ter, Mrs. Anthon Rust. Mrs. Dorthella Dastrup was called to the bedside of the infant in-fant son of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Murray of Bluebell. Delmar Mecham has been quite ill with the flue. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fisher and son, Clarence, were dinner guests and afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Anthon Rust. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Murray were the home missionaries of the Mt. Emmons ward Sunday. Corlation meeting was held at the ward hall Sunday. Many visiting people were present. Mrs. Dorthella Dastrup went to Upalco Monday morning to visit Mrs. Lavina Murphy. Private Morris Monson has been home on a few days furlough. fur-lough. Morris is stationed at Bremerton, Washington. Miss Gloria Lidster was a visi tor of Mr. and Mrs, J. O. Monson. Mon-son. Gloria is employed at the Tub factory in Salt Lake. Gloria accompanied Morris to Salt Lake on his return. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thacker gave a dinner at their home Tuesday in honor of Pvt. Morris Monson. Those' present were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Monson, Grant Monson and Miss Gloria Lidster. Lid-ster. Mrs. Mary Snyder has gone to Salt Lake to see her daughter, Maxine, married. Mrs. Ray Greenhalgh is teaching the first and second grade until her return. re-turn. Junior Taylor of the U.S. Navy, Na-vy, who has been ill with Malaria Malar-ia is home on a thirty day furlough. fur-lough. Mr. and Mrs. J. O, Monson entertained en-tertained at a dinner in honor of their son, Morris, the day before he went back. Those present were his immediate family and a few friends. A good many people from the upper country attended the game at Vernal Friday. Alta-mont Alta-mont won both games scores being: first-team, 16-22; second team, 10-15. After the games dancing was enjoyed at the Imperial Im-perial hall. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Thacker were in Duchesne on business Saturday. Miss June Rogers was a Sunday Sun-day visitor of the Misses Delma and Lorna Thacker. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dastrup spent two days at Upalco taking care of their grand children. Deloy Dastrup fell from a light pole April 13, 1943, and was seriously injured. The doctors doc-tors have hopes of his leaving the hospital in three or four months. He has had six operations opera-tions since his accident. Bernard Day is replacing Arnold Ar-nold Mecham as 2nd counselor in the M I A. Miss Cleroa Orr was recently i married. She is replaced as i counselor in the young women's organization by Stella Davies. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stout I are here visiting Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Dastrup, prior to Clayton's Clay-ton's induction into the Army. He is a specialist in the air plane wing factory. Ladies here are preparing for Relief Society conference to be held on the 12th of March. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Rust gave a dinner Sunday to honor their family who were all home but Erwin, who is in the Armed Service. Ser-vice. The Faculty gave a party in the Altamont gym Saturday night. Games were played and refreshments served. Thirty-five were present. Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Daniels were visitors in Salt Lake this week end. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Monson were in Roosevelt on business Friday of last week. The Dastrups celebrated Fath er Dastrup's birthday Saturday with a progressive party twenty-five were served. The day began be-gan at Mother Dastrups, then to Bernards, then to Vers for the evening meal. |
