Show CAP Selects 57 Cadets For Class at Hill Field Units of the Utah Wing, Civil Air patrol, are this week selecting select-ing 57 cadets to attend a week's summer encampment at Ogden air technical service command, Hillfield, beginning next Sunday. Sun-day. An announcement Monday by Capt. Tracy R. Welling, wing intelligence officer, said the war 'department has made it possible for 16 and 17-year old youths to be guests of various army air force installations throughout the country to receive finishing touches on their ground prcflight training. The 57 cadets, selected for appearance, interest and accomplishment, accom-plishment, will arrive at Hill field Sunday at 5 p. m. to be assigned as-signed to quarters and given orientation talks. Monday morn-in morn-in an intensive training schedule will begin to give the cadets practical application of the theoretical the-oretical subjects they have been studying. The training will include military mili-tary drill, classes in intelligence, aircraft recognition, engineering, aerial photography and flight operations. There also will be physical training and competitive compet-itive sports, and rider for the cadets in different types of aircraft. air-craft. Lt. Col. Joe Bergin, CAP wing commander, said the 57 are being selected from the 731 boys and 323 girls in the cadet training train-ing program in Utah. Lt. Ronald Page announced Monday that Bob Benson, Lowell Hall and Wayne Timothy have been selected from the Roosevelt Squadron and Junior Morrill and Val Ross from the Alterra Flight, to attend the meet. |
