Show ' v ' I - ' 1 NcrK r( ! Miff DANCE REVIEW A dance review, "That's Show Biz," will be presented next Tuesday Tues-day at Viewmont High School. Together they are able to teach children and teenagers how to perform and sparkle on stage. Karen teaches tap, jazz, ballet bal-let and musical theatre. She has choreographed a number of musicals, her latest being "Oklahoma" which was presented pre-sented at the "regional center" cen-ter" in November. This gives several of her students the opportunity to participate in the theatre. She will teach a summer program including dance acrobatics this summer to all those of age ten and under. HER FULL program including includ-ing all ages will resume this fall. The show will be held at Viewmont High School May 11 at 7 p.m. All contributions will be given to Primary Children's Chil-dren's Medical Center. The public is invited. The vivacious sound of "There's No Business Like Show Business" will open the 1982 spectacular dance review of Bountiful's Dancing Place. Over 120 dancers and singers will participate in the extravaganza. extrava-ganza. THIS IS not an ordinary and simple dance review. It is directed carefully to give the students an education in musical theatre as well as in technical dance instruction. The review's opening number has over 40 participants setting the mood for the theme, "That's Show Biz." The dancers will. indeed dance their-way-through-the movies as the music of each dance comes from a major motion mo-tion picture. This year, a world of fantasy comes alive as toy ducks, Raggedy Ann dolls, puppets, jack-in-the-box and Polynesian hula dolls come alive with dance. This year the show will spark some production produc-tion numbers such as "Celebration," "Celeb-ration," "Copacabanna," "42nd Street," and "Fame." The finale gives each dancer the chance to express their own spirit as they salute the world of the motion picture screen with "The Greatest Band." THE DANCING Place is owned and operated by Karen Barnes. She is full of the all around talent and energy needed to teach musical theatre and dance.
