Show Want cholesterol checked? Please make appointmment The Nursing Division of the Davis County Health Department Depart-ment is now requiring that individuals desiring to have their cholesterol checked call the Health Department beforehand and set up an appointment. According to Mary Meredith, administrator adminis-trator of the Nursing Division, "Response to the cholesterol clinic has been so positive that we must now make appointments to avoid long waiting lines for our clients." Cholesterol is measured via a portable, whole-blood chemical analyzer which takes approximately four minutes per test and an additional ten to fifteen minutes of counseling for "at-risk" individuals. The analyzer itself has been standardized to allow people to take the test without fasting. The cholesterol clinic is held on Thursday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. at the Davis County Health Department in room 1. The fee for this service is $5 per person. To make an appointment, call the Nursing Division of the Davis County Health Department at 451-3315. y Community or church groups interested in cholesterol presentations pre-sentations may call Brad Neiger, health promotion specialist for the Davis County Health Department at 451-3322 I |
