Show UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS RE: Proposed Changes in Service to Affect Route No. 70 and Service to Thiokoi. I. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that public hearings will be held by the Utah Transit Tran-sit Authority for the purpose of receiving comments and questions ques-tions regarding proposed service ser-vice changes. Hearings will be held at the following dates, times and places: A. Davis County - Tuesday. Tues-day. June. 1983 at 7:00 p.m. in the Davis County Courthouse Commission Chambers, Farmington, Utah. B. Weber County - Wednesday, June 8, 1983 at 7:00 p.m. at Weber State College Union Building, Room 338, Ogden. Utah. C. Salt Lake County -Thursday. June 9. 1983 at 7:00 p.m. at the Utah Transit Tran-sit Authority Board Room, 3600 South 700 West. Salt Lake City, Utah. II. Proposed changes in service ser-vice include: A. Route No. 70 to Salt Lake-Ogden commuter is being revised to more closely meet ridership demand through a redistribution of service ser-vice and improved travel time between Salt Lake and Ogden. The proposed service changes include a greater concentration concentra-tion of peak hour service frequency, fre-quency, the addition of a new-express new-express service on 1-15 between be-tween Salt Lake and Ogden. a reduction of off-peak service and an improved system of transfer connections with the Salt Lake and Ogden city local routes. . Peak hour service will include in-clude local trips between Salt Lake and Ogden intermediate short trips from Farmington to Salt Lake and Farmington to Ogden and express trips via I-IS I-IS between Salt Lake and Ogden. Arrivals and departure in Salt Lake and Ogden w ill be concentrated in the a.m. at 10 minutes after and 20 minutes before the hour and in the p.m. at 10 minutes before and 20 minutes mi-nutes after the hour for improved im-proved transfer connections with the Salt Lake and Ogden local routes. Off-peak service will be reduced from every 40 minutes to 60 minutes due to lighter ridership demand. B. Proposed changes in service ser-vice to Thiokoi include cancellation cancel-lation of the route serving Thiokoi from Brigham City and an increased far on the remaining route serving Thiokoi from Ogden. It is proposed to increase the fare to $1.75 per one-way trip. III. At the hearings the Utah Transit Authority will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, so-cial, economic, energy and environmental en-vironmental aspects of the proposed changes. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing, evidence and recommendations re-commendations with respect to said service changes. Written Writ-ten comments should be forwarded for-warded to Mr. John C. Ping-ree, Ping-ree, General Manager, Utah Transit Authority, 3600 South 700 West, P.O. Box 3 1810, Salt Lake City, Utah 84131 and postmarked no later than June 14, 1983. IV. Information relevant to the proposed changes is available avail-able at the offices of the Utah Transit Authority, 3600 South 700 West, Salt Lake City, Utah and 238 20th Street, Ogden, Utah. These materials will also be available for inspection at the public hearings. V. Persons desiring to be heard at the public hearings concerning these proposed service changes may call Ms. Jerri Ashurst at the UTA offices at 262-5626 to have their names listed on the roster of persons to be heard or may indicate their desire to speak at the time of the public hearing.
