Show vocational survey started by coordinator A survey of the seyler sevier school district to ascertain needs and demand for vocational training in trades and industries was started tuesday by glen nielsen of ogden vocational coordinator employed to make a survey under the cooperative plan financed by the federal government the state and the school district and sponsored by the school district to establish training in trades and industries under the george deen act the survey has not advanced for enough to predict the outcome and the method of procedure win will have to be governed by local conditions dit ions quite different from in large industrial centers the aim of the survey is to determine needs and demands and then seek to supply those demands through facilities available locally and by employment of local or outside instructors as the case requires the courses outlined pro vide for three groups boys and girls who have chosen a vocation I 1 and desire preparation for entering it youths who have already entered ered employment but who wish to advance in the type of work entered or in another vocation and adults who wish to improve their economic standing by increasing their efficiency in positions they hold the survey will include direct contacts with business and industrial establishments work through N Y A students and other means being outlined persons interested are invited to contact mr air nielsen at the office of the sevier district board of education |
