Show 8 state group asks study of broj projects acts associated civic clubs to vote on proposed list february 19 requests that they study a list of ten proposed projects suggested by the associated mountain states commercial organization executives were sent to all directors of the associated civic clubs of southern utah wednesday by ray E carr secretary of the civic clubs and a member of the advisory board of the intermountain association in accordance with the plan of operation of the A M S C 0 E it will take no action until the boards of directors of the member executives have first passed on them the associated civic clubs directors will pass on the proposed projects at their next meeting february 19 the projects include a policy by the federal government to protect the silver industry opposition to a reduction of reclamation appropriations and favoring the return of repayments made on projects to the reclamation department opposition n to curtailment of federal highway appropriations support for the golden gate internazi Inter international nati onal exposition in san francisco in 1939 as a means of developing travel throughout the west opposition to the transfer of the S forest service from the department of agriculture ri favoring an increase in the forest highways appropriation cooperation with the U S tourist bureau favoring advancing the opening and closing dates of the national parks to extend the tourist season favoring placing operation of airlines under control of the I 1 C C and the establishment of an election district of the united states chamber of commerce to include the mountain states in one group as a means of giving the region equal voting strength with other districts on problems of particular interest to this territory |
