Show Bountiful Students Honored ST. GEORGE - Dr. Peter Nyberg, vice president of academics acade-mics at Dixie College, announced that seven students from Bountitul have earned a place on the Dixie College Honor Roll for high academic acade-mic achievement during the tall quarter. THE DIXIE College Honor Roll is divided into two categories, with students earning 3.75 to 4.0 grade point averages receiving ' High Honor" status. Students receiving 3.5 to 3.74 have their names listed on the "Honor Roll." Four Bountiful residents were listed on the High Honor Roll according to Nyberg while the other three received Honor Roll status. BRUCE Bishop leads the group with a perfect 4.00 GPA. Bishop is one of only 11 Dixie College students stu-dents who earned a perfect report card. Additionally, Bruce had other time demands as he was a member of the football team. Receiving a lofty 3.95 GPA was Daniel K. Bell. Dan has also had time demands as he is a member of the basketball team which is nationally na-tionally ranked with a 13-1 mark. BRADLEY K. Garvin made High Honors with a 3.91 GPA. He was joined in that lofty group by Suzanne M. Hauze who achieved a 3.83 GPA and Shauna Moss who notched a 3.79 GPA. The other students making the honor roll are Diana M. Madsen, 3.5 GPA; Melinda Oniones, 3.61 GPA and Denna Peck, 3.54 GPA. DR. ALTON Wade, president of Dixie College, which is known to have some of the most stringent academic requirements in the state, praised these Bountiful students. stu-dents. Said Wade "We are extremely proud of these students, as we are of all our students who come to Dixie College from Bountiful. The students coming from the area high schools are as prepared or better so than any in the state or out of state. We have great pride in our "Bountiful "Boun-tiful Connection." |
