Show DUP Elects Officers South Davis County Company, Daughters of Utah Pioneers elected new officers for 1985-86 at a meeting Feb. 4 held at the South Davis County Branch Library, Bountiful. Boun-tiful. THE MEETING was conducted by President Aurelia B. Olsen. Florence B. Searle, vice president and chairman of the nominating committee reported on nominations and conducted the biennial etection. Delegate members from eleven camps participated in voting for the new county officers. Those elected were president, Loya Moscon; first vice president, Dorothy Preece; second vice president, Mary Whittaker; secretary, Sybil Nielsen; treasurer, Marolyn Mehr; registrar, Norma Moffatt; historian, Mildred Bray; chaplain, LeNore Smedley; chorister, Carma Hamilton; organist, Dorothy Rickers; parliamentarian and Museum hostess chairman, Doris Boggess. THESE OFFICERS will be installed at the DUP district convention March 9 in Bountiful, but will not assume their official duties until June 1 . A brief program followed elections which was highlighted highlight-ed by a showing by Zelda Mills of four old hats which belonged to Utah pioneer women in the Boulton family. The hats were modeled by county officers to the delight of those present. She also modeled a black top hat, the type popularly worn by the well dressed man at the turn of the century. BEFORE adjoining members were given instructions about the DUP district convention scheduled for Saturday, Satur-day, March 9, at the Bountiful Tabernacle. They were also told to watch for information regarding participation in the county Jubilee to be held at the conclusion of the year's camp programs June 1, the anniversary of the birth of Brigham Young. |
