Show 0 0 o R HS STUDENT activities I 1 0 0 harvest festival intensive preparations are arc underway this week at the high school for the harvest festival to be given next wednesday night november 28 at the anona pavilion this annual event sponsored by the future farmers is looked upon as the outstanding social function of the autumn season and this years festival promises to eclipse any previous similar event of the farmer boys selecting a queen of the harvest one of the important features tures of the harvest festival has been stimulated by naming a representative from each of the classes who are arc being voted for this week votes are being sold at the rate of a pe penny anny each and the contest promises to become spirited before the final selection is made nominees for the honor are freshman shirley gardner sophomore june snow junior maude erickson senior lean leah bell As aa added attractions a large turkey two capons camons two hens and a leg of lamb are to be given to persons holding lucky numbers A small pig is to be turned loose on the dance floor to add a little color and will be given to the person wh who 0 is successful in capturing it the annual future farmer assembly will also be held on the same date and will be presented in the form of a minstrel the public is cordially invited to attend committees in charge of arrangements cangem range ments ants are dance gail hendrickson grant peterson Pc terson and wayne peterson harvest queen nelo dastrup noel black and bill street assembly leon bell rue ricketts and donald leavitt basketball Rich fields defeat by jordan ligh high school last saturday put an end to football for this year the football suits are stored away and basket ball suits are taking their place many ambitious basket ball players have been practicing in the gyrn gym ever since school started and are now ready to hop right into the class basketball series which started tuesday the program for the series is as follows tuesday Lues day november 20 seniors vs freshmen juniors vs sophomores wednesday november 21 seniors vs sophomores juniors vs faculty thursday november 22 seniors vs faculty and sophomores vs freshmen friday no 23 juners vs freshmen and faculty vs sophomores monday november 26 juniors vs seniors and freshmen vs faculty the faculty has won the class series for the last five years senior assembly the annual senior assembly wi will be presented before the student body friday at 11 a in many entertaining features are planned the program will include a duet duct sung by leon bell and rue ricketts who sang together before an appreciative audience last friday the music of the program will also include a violin solo by frani fran dahl a musical skit by gavce williams and rulon peterson and a song by ora chris utahna smith and helen watters walters an original story by rue ricketts about two missionaries in canada and a reading by grant peterson should both prove very entertaining dick gurr will give a talk on what school means to a senior A dance will be offered by dorothy Christo pherson and roma coons |
