Show IN or ARMISTICE DAY parade football game and dance featured saturday armistice day was observed saturday in richfield under auspices of the jensen colby post american legion with a series of events including a splendid parade in the early afternoon a football game and a dance in the evening at the ano anona pavilion crowds of spectators lined the curbs through the business section to watch the parade which was made up of contingents from battery E field artillery leg ionn lonn aires alres auxiliary members the richfield high school and the richfield fire department several beautiful floats were entered the most striking of which was one representing the unknown soldiers grave the high school was waa well represented with their band floats float and stunts officers and men of battery E with their equipment gave the parade the proper military setting following the parade the largest crowd of the season watched the football game between the richfield wildcats and wasatch academy and received a thrill in watching the boys capture the conference championship the dance in the evening drew a large attendance not only of legionnaires and their friends but of the general public as well the pavilion was waa beautifully decorated and lent much to the gay spirit of the evening at 11 taps was sounded for a moment of silence in memory of the soldier dead and colors were advanced the drum corps and members of the legion and auxiliary participating the spirit in which legionnaires maple made their preparations for armistice day and the way they carried it off augurs well for the state legion convention to be held in richfield Rich neld next summer armistice programs were conducted in the various wards sunday as outlined in a previous issue s ue |
