Show maykq bill BESS n m T H MUNICIPAL LEAGUE W L warner to make bid for convention here in 1934 mayor W L warner of richfield left wednesday afternoon for tremonton Tre monton utah where he will attend the three days annual convention of the utah state municipal league to be held thursday friday and saturday september 21 22 and 23 mr warner is vice president of this organization and is scheduled for an address at 10 a m on friday which is designated as governors day governor henry H blood will vill be present and address the convention that day immediately med lately after mayor warners Warner 3 talk mr warner will discuss the water and tax delinquencies which have placed such a burden upon municipalities and will make an appeal for state slate relief money to take care of the relief work which cities are now carrying on in spite of the fact that they are getting only about 70 per cent of the funds supposed to come from water fees and general taxes others going from sevier county include mayor lucian winget of monroe and two or three of monroen monroes Mon roes councilmen and councilman frank herbert of salina mayor warner will make a strong bid for the 1931 municipal convention to be held in richfield and states that there is a very good chance that he will succeed due to the fact that he lent his support to getting this convention at tremonton Tre monton and was promised a reciprocal arrangement for this year some time ago Rich fields delegation and the special efforts of mayor warner were successful in getting richfield named as the host city for the state Fir emens convention ne next at year it appears now that this years very successful experience in entertaining conventions vent ions may be duplicated next year and this city may become the logical convention center for southern utah |
