| Show pioneer church W worker arker dies at monroe friday funeral services were held friday af afternoon in the monroe south ward chapel for arthur whiting 1 itin f who passed away wednesday y a after f a lingering illness bishop melbourn demill presided at the services speakers were joseph A smith heber swindle wilford hansen and benjamin gardner who paid high tributes of respect to this pioneer church worker and beloved citizen musical selections were given by the ward choir a violin solo was rendered by edwin whiting son of the deceased with mrs madge magleby at the piano and a duet by mrs ora hunt and thomas ransom heber magleby offered the invocation and the benediction was by N H nielson the beautiful array of flowers flower were carried by the relief society members A long line of cars followed to the cemetery where C A white dedicated we the grave arthur whiting was born at manti december 23 1860 a son of edwin and mary cox whiting he took active part in the pioneering of utah and arizona he married melissa lee master and they moved from arizona to monroe 26 years ago he was a taxidermist by occupation besides the widow the following children survive wro wm whiting of heber city lee and edwin whiting of clamore El amore mrs carrie came starley of holbrook arizona and mrs mae mac ball of monroe fourteen grandchildren three brothers john whiting of charleston edgar P whiting of mapleton and edwin whiting of arizona and one sister mrs abbie bird of mapleton also survive mrs W B pace accompanied by her son bill and daughters elaine and barbara left saturday for ciric chic idaho to visit dr and mrs airs W R abbott and miss phoebe pace mr and mrs paul E cutler and mrs mra hattie duffin of glenwood mother of mrs beutler went to salt lake saturday to attend the funeral of J B stratton a brother of mrs duffin |
