Show 0 0 SALINA by special correspondent J 0 0 annual relief society day st patricks day the annual relief society day made its bow in an interesting and entertaining manner monday afternoon the following program was given by the second ward relief belief society at their chapel song by congregation prayer mrs E M humphrey solo by mrs airs leland hugentobler speech of welcome mrs J C jensen vocal duet mrs rose crane and mrs N niels aels nielson Nic lson reading mar margaret aret Doin domgaard gaard piano solo homer christensen Christens cn talk bishop G al burr solo J C jensen brief sketch of relief society work mrs A W crane humorous read reading nig mrs jesse jcsse thornell immediately thereafter the crowd adjourned to the dining hall ball of the new church where light refreshments were served monday evening the second ward relief society offered two one act plays while all this was going on in the second ward the first ward relief society was also entertaining ane people by giving a matinee performance of a three act drama the old fashioned mother during which musical parts were furnished in the evening the play was re heated for the older folks later lunch was served by the hostesses and an hour of dancing was enjoyed en joy ed st patrick party the lady teachers of salina schools entertained at a delightful st patricks patrick s day dinner party saturday evening at the home of mrs farrell monson dinner was served at eight by rita hill lots lois erickson grace gardner and effie robinson on six X tables A color scheme of white and green was carried out green and white carnations decorated the tables at bunko 11 miss bliss bell webb and reward deward hopkins were winners those present were the misses edna domgaard bessie jacks jackson on elgie el binham Bin hain phyllis jorgensen anna lou brockbank thelma barney lots lois erickson rita hill effie R robinson and bell webb and elliot crane lloyd gates fred arbogast berton thompson louis bert fordham lee clark grant jorgensen deward hopkins leland tressel christensen and mr and d mrs airs leslie wright minnie albertson called following complications from an operation for a ruptured appendix miss bliss minnie albertson a popular senior and exceptional student of the north sevier high school died at the salina hospital wednesday morning orn in miss bliss albertson was born bom at E emery december 3 1909 and had resided there until she came to salina last fall to attend school here during her stay here she made many friends the body was taken to her home at I 1 emery and saturday afternoon funeral services were held many people including principal miss bliss stena mr and mrs airs ira mr air and mrs hal felt bishop and mrs C E peterson drove to emery to be present at the services meeting of the piute diute co the me members m bers of the board of the piute diute irrigation co met monday and appointed T A jeffery to fill the position of president made vacant EY by the resignation of S M jorgensen plans were also made to inspect the gates and look over the property at the piute diute reservoir next saturday local and personal mrs airs effie barrows of the home management department of the agricultural ri college and sirs airs esplin also of the agricultural college will be in salina this week conducting exhibitions along their different lines sirs mrs barrows vail N ill give a demonstration on kitchen management and remodeling remodel ingi sirs mrs esplin will give demonstrations on home reading miss bliss phyllis jorgensen delightfully fu ily entertained for the club at her home saturday afternoon following cards at which game mrs airs max sorensen was winner lunch was served to eight members for john thomas prows who died late friday night at his home in centerfield Center field impressive funeral services vices were held here eulogies were given by joseph parker of joseph chas E embley and hans hang C olsen of gunnison and C E peterson of salina musical selections were rendered by the choir miss bliss mary mccallum G AT wright and J C jensen mr air prows was born bom in california on november 12 1884 and moved to utah about six six years ago until the past four years during which time lie he has lived at center field he resided at kanosh mr air and mrs H E lewis returned from salt lake city thursday charles nielson arrived sunday from colorado where lie he has been inspecting his sheep herds mrs john dastrup of sigurd mrs john hilgendorff and children of richfield were guests at the home of mrs june webb saturday afternoon mrs M C draper of ruth nevada is visiting this week at the home of her daughter mrs airs laval dastrup |
