Show GOODBYE TO OUR READERS this issue of the richfield reaper is the last one carrying the name of the present editor and publisher on its masthead after this issue the over to gilr joseph L asbury of overto mr air joseph joseppi L asbury of sierra madre california who acquired the property by purchase and will after march 20 direct the destinies of Rich fields home town paper it is with a great deal of sadness that the editor says goodbye good bye to our readers he has had more than ten years of the most pleasant association with the people not only of richfield but of all of sevier county he endeavored to give them the best paper that consistently can be made in a city and county of our size and he had the satisfaction of noticing that the readers appreciated his efforts and at least to a certain extent reciprocated in the affection he felt for them aside from business relations he always had the most pleasant intercourse I 1 with the people of richfield and is grateful for all they have done for him while lie was working among them and with them he has in fact so warm warin a spot in his heart for the city of richfield and her people that he decided even after severing his connections with the local paper to make richfield his home for this reason he says goodbye only in his capacity as editor addressing it to his readers but as a citizen of richfield he greets his fellow citizens with the assurance that he will continue to give his best efforts to the progress and welfare of the city in whatever way it will be possible for him to exert his efforts in that direction As to our successor in the business we had several weeks ago a visit f from rom mr asbury and his go good od wife and since then were in continuous correspondence with him As As far as we can judge from the visit as well as from the correspondence mr and mrs asbury are extremely fine people who both have ample experience in newspaper work especially so mr air asbury who for a time was instructor of journalism in the largest school of journalism connected with a state university we are confident that mr asbury will give this community the best publicity service possible and we wish vish him success in his richfield venture with full confidence that the people of richfield will give him the same splendid consideration they have given to the editor who herewith extends his readers liis his par parting greeting |
