| Show WELSH IN H I 1 PLEASE AUDIENCE director joseph boen boaen leads his singers to triumphal victory if ever an aggregation of A inge lingers that sang before a richfield audience won more appreciation and applause that rose to a deafening fortissimo than did the royal welsh gleeden in the concert given saturday in the opera house we vie do not know it and N we e cheerfully and gleefully admit that this enthusiastic reception afforded to the singers was well and fully deserved the soloists excelled not only by their fine and well trained voices but also by bv artistic interpretation pre tation the ensemble of the chorus was as remarkable in blend of the bic es in precision of attack in a phrasing that speaks peaks high of the musicianship of dr joseph boalen bow en as veil mell as hi his singers anil and a sparkling brilliance of rendition the program was aas well balanced and in solo anft and asb assemble emble numbers brought what the director called items that appealed just as much to the eclectic and critic as to those who are fully satisfied when they hear pleasing songs pleasingly rendered by b pleasing voices unstinted praise has to be given a to director bomen bow en and his bos the ac compan included and the only thing that could be criticized is that the accompanist was nas at times so loud that he dro drowned ined the voices and in this wa ina was as responsible that in places a brilliant forte grew into a harsh fortissimo the people of richfield owe a ote lote of thanks to the student body of our high school chool who mho brought these admirable singers to our cian and the members of the commercial club gave concrete expression ep to their gratitude by quickly and willingly illin gly covering the deficit that the student body had on account of the fact that the attendance at the concert was not all that should bave been expected after the concert the singers were ere guests at a reception arranged in their honor by a number of local music enthusiasts under leadership of mr air and mrs airs jonathan lloyd the er eo well appointed affair was vas held in the commercial club rooms mr lloyd llod acting as master of ceremonies the most molt appreciated features of the evening were some more songs b the guests of honor who deeply ingratiated them themselves geles to the select laurience laudi audience ence by their willingness to re to quests and some gome solos by our local songbird mrs airs L A poulson other numbers vers acre the speech of welcome by judge 11 II N hayes responded to by dr bowen boa en a violin solo by max llod lie d all accompanied compa comp nied amed by betin B davis the Welsh mens excellent pianist and a humorous talk in dan danish h dialect by dr leslie poulson the rooms were ere decorated in halloween style and refreshments fresh ments were ere served |
