Show WITH RIGHTS OF my ON SOUTH H M county commissioners confronted with complaints by town board of joseph the board of county commissioners assembled in re regular gillar meeting monday with all compi comi loners present and chair nan moroni jensen presiding had bad to dr if ote the largest part of their time 0 listening to complaints of the town board and inhabitants q of the town of joseph regarding rectifications on the rights of way for the new federal aid road through joseph and damages whick they claim were deliberately done by the contractors to their rights and properties one of these complaints was brought by the town board through attorney sterling K heppler to the effect that the water mains supplying the town fonn with culinary waters are arc now liening limning for several thousand feet in the center of the road endangering the water supply the town board wants the county commissioners to take up the old line and place it so that no damage can be done to the water mains another complaint refers to the fact that the contractors deliberately destroyed some telephone poles and assistance from the county is now asked in bringing the telephone lines into proper shape again other complaints f from rom private citizens claim damages done to fences corrals etc so much time was taken up with these matters that another meeting had to be held tuesday night to dispose of an accumulation of routine matters regarding the joseph case the board did not make any decision but will go with the claimants over the entire road to get a clear picture of what will have to be done drainage district no 5 which has reached a settlement with the bond holders sent a delegation before the board stating that some time would be needed to adjust tax matters for the land under this drainage district and the commissioners gave the property owners time rime to june 1 to make complete settlement A delegation from monroe and central appeared before the board with the request that the washed away bridge on the old state road which is still used as a mail road be replaced to facilitate the distribution trib ution of mail the commissioners decided to have the bridge rebuilt during the current year J ba M mcfarlan appeared in behalf of the state board of agriculture explaining that the legislature has appropriated for weed eradication in the state this money to be matched by one third from the counties and one third from the railroad and canal companies and asking the board how much sevier county intends to contribute so the necessary monies for weed eradication in our county can be appropriated the matter was taken under advisement |
