Show f I 1 0 ELSINORE I 1 I 1 by special correspondent 0 0 0 relief society convention A stake relief society ca class ass leaders convention was nas held here sunday afternoon in the ward chapel under the direction of the stake board with president ada anderson in charge there was a large attendance of the various officers both stake and local after the usual opening exercises the subject teachers training and better teachers was very ably treated by bv harold anderson toll followed owed by a di discussion by the officers the musical numbers were a chol chirug u by members member of the monroe south ward wara a double vocal duet by monroe north ward vocal solo by mrs minnie sylvester of the elsinore ward after the pio gram the various officers separated for departmental work which was in charge of the stake officers at the close of the meeting a splendid display of work done by the various war wards ds in their regular work meetings was shown membership social the gave their membership social tuesday evening at the gymnasium with a good crowd in attendance the following program was given community singing invocation glen ahlstrom vocal voc il trio mesdames violet zabriskie may jensen and jetta marquardson reading mrs naomi newel comic stunt mesdames minnie sylvester myrtle whiting and violet zabriskie piano duet duct misses elizabeth sorensen and lucille christensen short talks presidents lydia madsen and J A bateman after afek r the program everybody enjoyed a lively dance and tasty tast refreshments the hall was deco decorated atad with fall flowers rabid abid R dog attacks master sam I 1 mecham a herder of the alie oat herd belonging to J W sylvester at johns valley had a rather unpleasant e experience peri ence last week with mth a rabid dog I 1 mr mecham discovered that there was something wrong with the dog ullen the animal suddenly sta started rt after him he ran for his horse and mounted it just in time to escape his pursuer the dog grabbed the bridle rein and tugged away at it mr mecham INIe cham finally fin illy succeeded in getting it away from him when the dog turned on the horse and bit it on the leg mr mecham turned the horse toward camp and ran as fast as hp h could with the log dog following him nearing camp he called to loren sylvester his companion nion to jump in his car to save camp himself rn if from the dog the animal at last gave up and went a 3 short distance from camp where he laid down the men then secured a gun and shot him fearing the ho horse ra e might become affected from the bite they applied sheep dip to the wound and up to date the horse seems to be all fall right local and personal mr and mrs cleo patterson and T mrs wesley farrer of beaver were su sunday aay dinner guests of mrs farreel sister mrs C K christensen T miss aram anna 1 laura aura staples came cam e down from ephraim sunday evening and enjoyed a short visit with her parents mr and mrs J L staples she returned the same evening T H gunn of beakey beaver visited this week at the home ionic of ills his son frank gunn and of his two daughters daughter mrs airs J A batsman bateman and mrs laamar aalf ar larsen T H gunn of beaver and mrs airs glen W aeils ahlstrom were the speakers at our sacramental meeting sunday evening the musical numbers were a piano solo by mrs minnie blinnie sylvester and community singing miss aliss mary anderson left sunday for ephraim where ahe he will attend the snow college this winter mrs may jensen was hostess wednesday afternoon to the members of the L L cub at her home louis hansen returned home saturday from the uintah basin where he and mrs hansen and the children havo have spent the past six weeks on theia farm mrs hansen accompanied him as far as provo prove from there she went wen to salt lake city where she visited visited ano lays days with daughter and sonin son in law mr and mrs mr dan anderson she returned home late monday evening in in company with her sister mrs alfred johnson who with her two sons clifford and welby have also been Ii i relatives in the basin then the crop conditions in that part of the state very favorable the alfalfa seed which is quite short this year N P anderson returned holemon home monday from Roo roosevelt evelt where lie he visited his brother and family I 1 mr and mrs christy andersson anderson |
