Show rejuvenating REJUVENATE NG OUR waterworks WATER WORKS SYSTEM the second attempt made by the city council of the city of richfield to raise money by abond issue for the purpose of improving enlarging increasing and extending our system was successful while the issue carried by only a si small nall faigin the will of the majority has been expressed anti and the city council is now confronted with the task of giving the people what they need rather than what they want in what way the improving and extending will vill be done one is not quite clear yet and and it seems that a definite plan has not yet been adopted however hoeve the council now entrusted with managing the city cites s affairs has not been found lacking in good business sense and it is therefore pretty certain that the money to be iaiser by the bonds will be used in a manner which will be of benefit to the people a credit to the city and a testimony to the efficiency of t the he men who compose the legislative and executive body of our city administration the burden of the debt and paying it with interest has been shouldered by the taxpayers ta payers quite le ie luct antly but jt it has been shouldered indicating that the need of improving and extending our water s system Y item IS i e existent xi stent richfield has in no way been a boom town nor is it such at the present time but census results show that our city has a healthy conservative growth and f from roni all appearances it is to be expected that the census to be taken in 1930 will again show an increase in our population the present waterworks water works system is not ample enough to furnish water to the people who now live here and it will therefore be necessary to bring up the system to such a point that not only the present population can be appropriately served but that a surplus of water will he be on hand to take care of a steadily gi owing growing population if this will be done the money will be well spent |
