Show MANY VETERANS AIDED BY PASSAGE I 1 OF THE SWEET BILL washington D C march 14 ten thousand veterans of the world war suffering from tuberculosis now without government aid will be bene Itene fitted bv the passage of the sweet bill according to alvin ow ley national commander of the american legion in a recent investigation vesti gation the legion found that of these men many of them accompanied by their families are now destitute in the west where they have wandered in an effort to recover their health under the provisions of the bl bill pass passed ed by congress just before adjournment journ ment the term of years during which a veterans dis ability I 1 ig said to have insulted lesul ted front from spraie fe is so lengthened that practically all ali of these men may be classified in many cases extension of the insurance privileges is granted tubercular and psychiatric diseases resulting within three years after discharge will be considered as duo due to service and tender render the soldier eligible for and compensation pensa tion the bill further provides provid es that will be paid by the government for funeral expenses of soldiers who leave insufficient property to care for expenses contingent to burial the bill also provides that all hospitals under the jurisdiction of the V veterans et erans bureau used by bv the gov government e rement will be thrown op open en to veterans af the civil and spanish american wars including transportation costs to these hospitals |
