Show I 1 NORTH SEVIER HIGH SCHOOL I 1 0 0 among the most successful attempts at reviving a little spirit in school was tho the girls basketball game played friday march 10 between the freshmen and sophomore girls tile the soplia are all tall and because of 0 their loftiness they thought they had bad it over their more earthly opponents but lid did you ever hear the story of the defeat of 0 the spanish armada I 1 dare say you have in ill this case also spain thought sho she had her smaller adversaries the english war hawks whipped but here is one instance where the lesser had ehte advantage so also albo is this particular game in an example ot of the advantages the short have over the tall er ones the croshie girls darted in among their elders ciders and passed the ball so quickly that the could not got get much of a chance to show their would bo superior skill of course when they did get the ball to themselves it was easy to get it through the hoop and thus the score board showed six tallies in favor of the freshman hoop darting around them on all sides proved a little too much and the final tally said 6 to S in favor of those of the years nine for the frechie girls will they challenge the state champions next year they really do show surprising agility ty in passing the ball 0 0 north sevier high school wishes to t 0 extend to the family and relatives of mrs Wil wilford fori curtis heartfelt sympathy in their sorrow for her decease merle and lucinda curtis daughters of the departed are active students in our high school we wish them to feel that we have their sorrow at heart we have had very little diversion from the regular routine of school work the last two weeks and when we do have some different proceedings we certainly feel that we have had a treat thursday angeline one of the freshman dramatic stud students eilts gave a reading in assembly ly on friendship many people think they know a lot but there are some of these who have tailed failed to learn the meaning of friendship or how to make a friend IN now 0 w this is valuable information fo for r which many people give thousands of dollars for was imparted to us in assembly in such a winning way that we had a suspicion that this freshman was experimenting on oil us while she was aeling us about it at least we all felt that she had made friends with us we believe also that wo we know more about real friends now this be a refreshing diversion from the regular routine elaborate plans are being made for the track meat to be held here about the second week in may it seems that there must be some secrets for as yet they wont tell us what are embodied in the plans this much we have heard someone say that it be all running there ti I 1 ere would be some speeches it makes us all the more anxious to know all about it there is something mysterious in the way mr evans talks to himself these days we have reasons to believe that it is the track meet plans that are on his brains hell probably a bly spill a few by next week its very muddy and there is some snow which has not melted yet in north sevier but we are inclined to believe that on the of march the boys who are going to form the track meet will be unable to hold themselves in check any longer even though they mire to their knees in mud they will wait no longer to train it if mother nature prepare tor for the breaking of their leashes we are apt to see some comedies what hat is more comical than a person trying to run and slipping on the mud only to rise with his face and hands so plastered with mud that he can rid neither of the grimy stuff if his feet get extra layers on to overbalance him and he roles over again probably in some ice cold water this time if the boys do start to train they may realize the risks they are taking and prohibit onlookers these aro are all just suppositions of 0 f what may happen spring sunshine and mud make us long for the outdoors and we really cant retrain refrain from a few flights of fancy mr evans says that lie believes we will have to discontinue our part time vacation next monday we gave vent to our feelings against madam flu in last weeks issue of tho the reaper it will be noted that due to her ca prices we had bad very depleted school not been much better miss days last week and this week it ll 11 has s joseph A anderson and ole chr 1 s have been absent this wee week k the students from redmond and aurora have not been with us and a great many of salinas students were absent however it is believed by a great many that II adam flue has run her course and will be out of the game soon this is just confidential between you and rue me we students sometime bome time feel glad when we hear that we will have a few extra study periods and maybe not much school but heres once where we hate simply detest part time schools or extra study inri periods we te will be so ga glad ad to get back to regular school that we wont know how to act there are two extremes and weve had enough of this extreme wed brather have too much school wed give anything to have regular school rather than to have thi this lukewarm luke warm warin school caused by allu |
