Show I 1 RICHFIELD JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 0 0 eight ono victorious in selling tickets the operetta polished pebbles was presented to a large and appreciative audience on thursday evening march larch 9 at the opera house under the direction of J L terry credit for the full house is due to the enthusiastic work of the students of the junior high in selling tickets for the operetta each class was determined to outdo their neighbor class in the work and come out the winning class in the contest it was a race between two classes eight one and eight two eight one came out victorious score I 1 core 56 to 44 DOROTHY CLARK 0 eight three spelling champions friday morning eight three challenged eight two to a spelling match which was accepted the teachers decided to keep the names of the pupils missing and the number they think this method gives all a fair chance and helps the poor spellers when the numbers of mistakes were counted eight three was victorious eight two having missed fifty seven words and eight three forty eight this victory made eight three champion of the eighth grades as three weeks ago they def defeated bated eight one by a narrow margin PRANCES FRANCES HAKE the health clinic the children of the junior high were very enthusiastic over the health clinic although not nearly all of them were that should have been out of an enrollment of something over children only thirty four were examined those awful reabel reports the lads and lassies classies of seven one are made to write a report for boyd and vilda it is fun full but for me it is not sport I 1 think and think of something to write I 1 think all day and I 1 think all night at last I 1 think of a simple verse and of course tor for me that so worse CLAIR ORROCK our correspondence several weeks ago the seven two section of the seventh grade sent letters to different parts of tile the world especially tile the united states they are now receiving many letters some from alabama florida england and many other places these letters as may be expected are very interesting miss anderson read one of them to us seven one and wo we instantly got the fever we have lave just sent our letters and are waiting anxiously for our answers 0 our opera who says our junior high opera a success I 1 dont think anyone says so because we did make biake a big success of it wo we all know those who took part certainly did well I 1 wonder if mercedes can say as much off the stage as she could on it it if she can it would pay her to make a lecturing tour around the world im sure zina and elmer would make good specimens of farm hands for a museum then the iris ins villa and una those dear old polished pebbles why dont they go some place to spend a millionaires fortune they must be all trained tor for it now but speaking of those who took part I 1 think mr terry and his band ought ought to have a vote of thanks besides the chorus and all the others well as tar far as I 1 can tell all those who went to the opera were mighty well pleased and enough for us but it be unexpected to hear some student say our opera was sure a big success but then thata only natural we take success along with ua like a doctor takes his satchel RODEAN JENSEN |
