Show deach OF UNCLE DEE WOOLEY OCCURS AT KANAE the salt lake lune publishes the elie following fol loing announcement of the death of uncle dee wooley well known here as a man of exceptional ability in pioneer work edward dilworth wooley known affectionately throughout the state as uncle dee dec died yesterday at his homo home in kanal kanab according to word received here yesterday by his close friend anthony AV ivins of the council of twelve of the latter day saint church mr wooley was bern at nauvoo nauvoo 11 seventy five years ago and as an infant was brought across the plains in ili his early lays days he participated in the indian troubles of the southern part of the state and endured the hardships which wore were thou then th the 0 lot ot of tho the pioneers ile he was a pence peace officer as a man and served his community in a number of different capacities he engaged in ili business and operated ranches with success As second president of the kanab stake of his church mr wooley administered to a lock flock scattered widely in ili the elie little visited sections of the southern part of the state ile he traveled more than miles a year to attend the various ward conferences and other meetings in ili 1877 lie he served a short mission to great britain president wooley was the son of the late bishop edwin D wooley he first married a daughter of tho the late richard bentley and subsequently miss flora snow daughter of erastus snow decedent was tho the father of dilworth wooley a young attorney who opened an office in ili richfield eld several years since and who later moved to manti mand where lie ho has built up a successful practise uncle dee wooley was instrumental in opening up the road to grand canyon from the utah side and has been identified with every movement for the development of southern utah he has a host hobt of friends here in sevier |
