ItkI. Its contemporaries, the Indian birch hark canoe and the bateau of th early voyagers, disappeared from tln-se waters years ago, but as late in T.llli, this wah'.'Jl boat was in active service. The boat Is 22 feet long and I'.G inches wide. It w;:s built by Mitchell Bonhomino, great-grfat-grandfather of tlie lad shown in tlie picture, and it Is cherished today by the Bonhoiiime family m a historic reiLinder of those early days. |
