Show i I I SPRING CITY By Special Correspondence The Spring City ward choir was reorganized Thursday evening with the following officers: president of the music committee, Vivian Larsen; president of the choir, William E. Robinson; chorister, Earnest Terry; organists, Mrs. Vergus Osborne and Miss Veone ! Jensen; secretary, Mrs. Emma Jensen; librarians, Lewis Allred and Evah Mortensen; attendance committee, Faun Acord, AUce Larsen, Lar-sen, Odd Johnson, Lowell Hansen and Geniel Allred. More than 50 members were present. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson are the proud parents of a baby girl who arrived at their home a week ago. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brough are the proud grandparents of a baby girl born on the 29th of Mrs. Frank Larsen. Mrs. Larsen November at Fairview to Mr. and was formerly Miss LaPriel Brough of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Reid S. Boyce have been spending the past month w;ith her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Puzey. They left Friday Fri-day for their home in Los Angeles. They were accompanied by Miss Alberta Puzey who will spend the winter at the coast. Linden Schofield has returned from St. Anthony, Idaho where he has been employed for a year and a half. The Relief Society held their monthly report and work meeting Tuesday in the tithing office. They made things for the Home Coming Com-ing and Carnival which is to be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday Satur-day of next week in the Victory HaU. Mrs. Orien Jensen prttertninp! the members of the Aletha club Friday. Dainty refreshments were served. Mrs. Paul Bunnel of Salt Lake city visited one day last week with Mrs. Marie B. Christensen. Word was received Monday by Mrs. Fred Mickel of the death early that morning of her sister. Mrs. Marilla Kofford Hansen in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Hansen was born in Spring City 47 years ago. She was a daughter of Charles E. and Maren Christine Kofford. Mrs. Margaret Clrristiansen celebrated cel-ebrated her 77th birthday anniversary anni-versary Thursday, December 3. Dainty refreshments were served to the following guests: Lizzie Allred, Grace Allred, Mannett Allred, Diantha Allred, Hannah Nielsen, Elizabeth D. Larsen, Gen-iva Gen-iva H. Justensen, Nelly Nyberg, Effie Allred, Rose L. Petersen, Jennie Jen-nie A. Allred, Floy Madsen, Ruby Allred, Clara Allred, Sarah Clausen, Clau-sen, Mina Larsen, Mary E. Acord, Stina Allred, Ada Allred and the guest of honor. Mrs. Christiansen has suffered from rhumatism for several years and has not been able to leave her home. Clair Justesen, 17, died at noon Wednesday from Spinal Mingitis m a Salt Lake hospital. He was the son of Earnest and Sarah All-red All-red Justesen. Clair took sick Friday at the North Sanpete High school, where he was a Senior, and was taken to Salt Lake early Saturday. He remained in an unconscious un-conscious condition until he passed away. The body will be brought to the Hansen Undertaker Parlor at Mt. Pleasant Thursday. Out door services ser-vices will be held Friday at the home in Spring City. The whole town gives their sympathy to the bereaved family. The Gleaner Girls of the M. I. A. were entertained Tuesday evening even-ing at the home of Mrs. T. C. Thompsen. Refreshments were served to 20 girls and two teachers. Mrs. Thompsen taught the girls how to make artificial flowers. Mrs. Walter Rasmussen entertained enter-tained at a party Friday for her son, Parley, the occasion being his 14th birthday anniversary. |
