Show ' j OID RESIDENT OF MT. PLEASANT DIES ' The funeral of William Jeffer- ' son Tidwell, 70, was held in the Nampa, Idaho second ward L. D. I S. Chapel November 10, 1931. Mr. i Tidwell was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah October 8, 1861. He is the ,.J son of Jefferson Tidwell and Sar ah Seely. The family was called from Mt. Pleasant to settle Indian-ola Indian-ola by Brigham Young. Later they were called to settle Castle Valley in 1879. He was graduated from the University of Deseret at Salt Lake City, June 2, 1881. He was one of the pioneer school teachers of Mt. Pleasant and Price, Utah. He 3 married Emma Clarissa Jones in WeUington, Utah on December 2j, I- 1889. For 20 years he was civil engin- V eer for the Utah Fuel Company. He served two terms as county I. assessor for Carbon and Emory Counties, also as county surveyor t . of Emory County in 1902-03. He assisted in building the Tidwell - Canal and in improving the coun- n try around Wellington, Utah. He " moved to Idaho with his family in 1920. J Mr. Tidwell is survived by his widow, nine children and twenty-one twenty-one grandchildren. The children are: William Leroy, John Leslie, Stuart R., J. Edward, Joseph and Ida Mae all of Nampa; Sarah Clarissa Pierce of Wellington. VC Utah; Pearl Hansen ol Goshen. 1 O Utah and Justice Tidwell of Klam ath Falls, Oregon. He ha foui brothers and two sisters living in Utah and a sister in California. |
