Show Trench Silo Data Circular Now Available Methods of constructing and filling a trench silo are explained in a new circular entitled "The Trench Silo" by E. J. Maynard, according to an announcement of Director William Peterson of the extension service . of the Utah State Agriculture college. The circular is illustrated by drawings and photographs and is written in a non-technical style. It also contains dimensions for silos according to the number of animals to be fed and tables showing the amounts of sileage to feed different animals. "Corn is considered to be the best crop for sileage wherever it can be grown successfully," says Professor Maynard. "It can be grown in most parts of Utah From Cache Valley on the north to beyond Utah county on the south and other regions of the state with similar climate. Improved Improv-ed Learning is a standard variety of corn for silage." |
