Show Fairview Man Killed In Mine Andrew Christensen, 65, was instantly in-stantly killed late Tuesday in the Huntington Coal Mine, fifteen miles east of Fairview. It is believed be-lieved that his lamp went out after af-ter he had ignited a fuse to one of his own blasts and he was unable to make his escape before the powder exploded. Dr. W. P. Winters of Mt. Pleasant and Albert Christensen, a brother of the dead miner, and manager of the Huntington mine, investigated. They stated that the man had been alone, evidently ready to leave the face of the tumiel after igniting thj fuse to his blast when his lamo went out causing him to fall. Andrew Christensen, son of Andrew An-drew and Anna Teonjum Christensen, Christen-sen, was born in Fairview in 18G5. He is survivedb his wife Luchy H. C. Cnnstenscn, and also by four children oy a former marriage: Mrs. Mary K-.ster, lie, Verna and Leah Christensen, all of Los Angeles, California. Four brothers and one sister also survive: Albert, Samuel, John C. Christensen of Fairview, Peter Christensen of Magna and Mrs. Hans Madsen of Fairview. The body was taken care of by Ted E. Coe of the Hansen Mortuary Company. |
