Show I FAIRVIEW By Specinl Correspondence i Fifteen of the Wasatch Academy girls visited the Sanpete County Infirmary In-firmary Wednesday evening, giving a suurprise to Superintendent and Mrs. Christensen and the nine inmates. A good program of songs and readings was given and each inmate was pre sented with candy and oranges. The girls thought the infirmary was much improved by the changes in the past year. There h;is been new calsimine throughout the building and new beds and bedding have been added. Mr. Christensen has been in charge since June 19r!8. The M. I. A. Harvest Ball held Wednesday Wed-nesday evening was a great success It was an old fashioned costume ball. Elondy Cole and His Novelty Synco-pators Synco-pators furnished the music. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rigby were awarded the first prize which was a fine turkey. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Madsen received a squash for the second prize. A large crowd attended. I. A. of t.hi:-; t.hi:-; city presented the ' arama, "Sucess.' ; at the opera house Thanksgiving night under the direction of Miss Etta Ras- mussen. The following were in the cast: Allen 'Larsen, . A spectial meeting of the Farm Bureau precincts and officers was called call-ed at Ephraim Monday. Amasa Rasmussen of this city . was chosen as president of the County Farm Bureau to succeed Asa F. Reynolds, who leaves this week for a short term mission. M. Rasmussen will visit all the Farm Bureau organizations during a general gen-eral membership drive In the new year. Mayor S. B. Rigby reports that local lo-cal city officers have this week purchased pur-chased the Lindquist corner on Main Street. They expect to tear down the building and erect a municipal bath, library and city hall as soon as their funds will permit. Chad Cox has been chosen as secretary sec-retary in the South ward Youn Men's Mutual Improvement association to succeed Alma Miner who lately left for a mission to Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith announce the mariage of their daughter, Orptaa E. to Dsan Syndergaard Larsen of Mt. Pleasant. They were married in Salt Lake last week. Miss Smith is a graduate nurse' of the St. Marks hospital, and has spent the past two years in the maternity hospital a Murray. Mur-ray. The young couple will make their home in California. |
