Show Hrs. L C. Rasmussen Dies In Berkley, Calif. Mrs. Cecelia Johansen Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, wife of L. C. Rasmussen, prominent prom-inent farmer of this city, died Tuesday Tues-day night while visiting her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. A. B. Murphey, in Berkley, California. Mrs. Rasmussen, who had been in failing health for several sev-eral years, left Mt. Pleasant last Friday to spend several weeks with California relatives and her death was a severe shock to her family and relatives here. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, October, Oc-tober, 22, 1869., of pioneer parents, Peter and Anne Kerstene Johansen. She received her early education in the schools of the city and later at-ended at-ended the B. Y. U. at Provo. She was one of the early teachers in the Mt. Pleasant public schools. She was married October 9, 13-T) in the Manti Temple to L. C. Rasmussen Ras-mussen and they were the parents of nine children. She was an active church worker, having served as counsellor and secretary in the Y. L. M. I. A. and, was secretary and counsellor for twenty years on the stake Relief Society board. At the time of her death she was president of the North ward Relief Society. Her only son, Althen J. Rasmussen, Rasmus-sen, died while on a mission in the Tongan islands, seven years ago. She is survived by her husband and six daughters, Mrs. A. B. Murphey Mur-phey of Berkeley, California; Mrs, Leander Olsen of Moroni, Mrs. Henry Rasmussen of Fairview; Ma-s bel, Ethel and Christie Rasmussen of Mt. Pleasant. The following brothers and sisters also survive her: Peter Johansen of Castle Dale; Mrs. George W. Miller of Price; John A. Johansen of Wool-ford. Wool-ford. Alberta, Canada; Charles A. Johansen of Cleveland, Utah; Mrs. Thomas G. Harrisn of Salt Lake; Joseph P. and Christian. J. Johansen Johan-sen of Mt. Pleasant. The body was brought to Mount Pleasant to-day. Funeral services will be held Monday Mon-day at two o'clock in the North ward chapel. |
