Show Poultryman Is Visiting Valley Carl Frischknecht, extension poul tryman -of the Utah Agricultural College, reports having enjoyed his wecKend visit to North Sanpete. While in Sanpete he visited flocks and held meetings at Manti, Gunnison, Gun-nison, Mt. Pleasant, Fairview and Moroni. Both he and Prof. Grant Ivans, who was here last week, spoke ol the optimism that prevails and also of the splendid way in which our poultrymen are entering into the business. In parts of the state where a more unfavorable wintet has caused a very light production of eggs and a very heavy loss ot birds, the poultrymen are less cheerful regarding the future and do not show the interest and enthusiasm en-thusiasm demonstrated by our local lo-cal men in purchase of baby clucks and in coming out to see demonstrations demon-strations and hear talks on poultry huspandry. We have been told that Utah has a splendid climate for poultry. If that be true, what can we say for Sanpete? They will hear more from us in future years. Mr. Stone and Mr. Blackhurst oi the Utah Poultry Producers Cooperative Coop-erative Association also spoke at the meeting Friday evening. This was the final of a series of twelve evening classes on poultry, sponsored by the agricultural department de-partment of the North Sanpete high school. Part of these classes class-es were held in connection with the meetings of the parent-teacher's organization. |
