FOUNTAIN GREEN By Special Correspondence A fire, which almost totally destroyed de-stroyed the home of Dewey Johnson, John-son, broke out on the afternoon of April 17th and although everyone did everything in their power to gain control of it, it was of no avail. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed that it was due to some possible defective wiring. It is a big loss as' it was a large substantial home, but is partially covered with insurance. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson and daughters Geraldine and Helen of Lovell, Wyoming, Mr. and Mrs. James S. Yorgason of Burlington, Wyoming, Mrs. Edith Haskell ot Salt Lake City and George E. Col-lard Col-lard and family of Provo were all visitors in our city this week. The Happy Bridgers club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Erma Ivory, where a pleasant time was enjoyed and re-ireshments re-ireshments were served. Mrs. Viola Madsen won first prize in Bridge and Erma Ivory won consolation con-solation prize. John Holman, who has not been well for some time past has been confined to his bed for the past few days, but it is hoped that he will soon recover. Mrs. Delphia Meeks of Ogden, Utah, is visiting this week at the home of her parents, Mr. a.nd Mrs. O. A. Allred. Mrs. Nellie Collard has been seriously ill f or the past two weeks, but is slightly improved now. Ray Jensen, thirteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Jensen, received deep cuts and gashes on his head when he was playing basket bail at school last week and in a hurried effort to get the ball, was pushed against the radiator. Medical aid was summoned and he is improving now. Mr. and Mrs. Abe Madsen are mov ing Into tne home of James Lund where they will remain indefinitely. indefin-itely. Mrs. Will Collard is visiting this week with her son W. O. Collard and family of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson r.nd daughter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ida-ho, and Mi's. A. H. Anderson of Salt Lake City were guests at the heme of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Thompson this week. On Monday svening an excellent program was given, under the supervision su-pervision of the local Primairy Association, the proceeds to be sent to the Convalescent Home at Salt Lake City. Song, "Utah, Fairest Utah," sung by Primary children; prayer, "Urban S. Madsen; Mad-sen; Motion- Song by Beginners and First grade; 2d group danced, "Sweet Williams;" Zlons boys and girls, "Hey Little Lassie;" reading by Lois Ivory, "Mince Pies;" tvo act play, "The Music Makers;" harmonica selection by a group of .-,cys, saxephone solo, "Only a Year Ago," by Fred Guymon; reading, "The Penny Bottle," by Janice Hobe-tson, ' Miuet" was danced by the Sea Gull group; prayer by Lillie M. Robertson. A large number of parents were in attendance. |
