In the new vivarium In the Jarclln des I'lantes, the public has the extraordinary experience ex-perience of watching insects In their mil ural environments, each group shown In an Indoor glass cage lifted up to seem like home to. the Inhabitants. Inhabi-tants. This lias not been so easy of accomplishment as II might seem. The Insects come from various climates. However, they seem well satisfied lo hide beneath plates of transparent glass through which they can easily be seen. Several cages nre (leveled lo exhibits of Insect mimicry. The giant pliasmas look like the green leaves they feed upon, and others exactly ex-actly resemble the straw-colored branches lo which they are clinging.
