Show At Snow College 'S" WiU Receive Whitewash April 19 If Mr. Sunshine will do his part in Irying the ground, the student body will journey to the giant "S" upon the hill Friday, April 19. Without a loubt this will be the largest yet held jn such an occasion. Under the direction of Harden Brlenholt the school letter will re ;eive its anual whitewash and probably probab-ly be completed. A novelty hiking arrangement is being prepared and it is planned to make a big affair of the 3"S" day activities. In the afternoon the baseball class series of the college will be played at II the Ephraim city park. Maple Canyon Trip Outlined Saturday, April 27th the busses will transprt the Snow College students to the mouth of MaDle Canvon, from there the students will hike up the canyon where they wiU play games and have lunch. A special prgram will be sponsored during the luncheon hour. Last Friday decided the champions In mens doubles for tennis. Glen ( Neilson from Moroni and Ronald Ji Leonard from Huntington were placed as the undefeated victors. H. R. Christensen from Ephraim and Don Brian from Loa captured the consolation consola-tion title. Baseball will receive special atten-tion atten-tion from now on in the remaining school days at Snow College. . Begin-r.S'nlng Begin-r.S'nlng next Friday an official game iDSwill be held each week throughout the -''remainder of the year. ' . College President Honored W President M. H. Knudsen of Snow College who is now attending the University Uni-versity of Wisconsin has recently been distinctly honored by election to the IeS Sigma Xi, an honorary society for the promotion of research, according to word received from the University. This society is the highest in the country coun-try for research men. President lEis;Knudsen has for some time been a member of the Phi Sigma, an honor-ary honor-ary scholarship society. Professors Active There is a big demand for the activity ac-tivity of the college professors. Acting president William G. Barton went to Richfield, Panguitch, and Junction where he spoke in a series of scout meetings. Miss Phillips, Miss Brimhall, and Professor Snell judged the Candland oratorical contest in Mount Pleasant Sunday evening. Miss Phillips judged debates at Monroe Mon-roe and Richfield Thursday. Mr. Snell will judge the Ashman oratorical contest at Richfield some- umo tnis week. Chapel Assemblies Bring Notables Tuesday Mr. Newell K. Young, seminary teacher from Moroni spoke to the student body of the CoUege. His subject was "Need for firm Religious Re-ligious Convictions." Next Tuesday President S. M. Niel-son Niel-son of the North Sanpete Stake will be the speaker. Principal Ellis E. Johnson of the Manti High School will speak May 7. Rabbi Gordon of Salt Lake City will be a special speaker here Tuesday, , .i April 30th. |
