Show Large Crowd Attends Old Folks Party The annual Old Folks party Wednesday found a goodly number num-ber present despite the inclement weather. Four hundred twenty-one twenty-one persons were seated at the banquet tables of which 196 were special guests as follows: 12 over 80 years of age; 41 over 70 years; 84 over 60 years; 59 special guests under 60 years of age. There were present 46 widows and 23 widowers. Mrs. Louise Beckstrom, 89, was the oldest lady present; H. P: Ellertson, 87, the oldest man. Bishop Henry P. Olsen was in charge of the program which was given as follows: Male quartette,"Love Came Call-in:;," Call-in:;," George Squires, Jay Hafen, Bishop A. L. Peterson and Superintendent Super-intendent A. E. Jones; prayer, Elder El-der J. B. Staker Sr.; violin duet, "Herd Girl's Dream," ETson Jones and Dearwyn Sardoni; address of welcome, Bishop Henry P. Olsen: vocal duet, "Neopolitan Nights." Mrs. T. W. Jensen and Mrs. Alfred Drage; - humorous talk, William Olsen, oriental dance, North ward Y. L. M. I. A.; three act comedy, "West cf Broadway," presented by local talent. Carnations were presented pre-sented to the. 12 honor guests over 30 years old by the ward Relief Society presidencies. The carnations carna-tions were gifts from Squires & Jensen. Between the dance and the play fancy dancing was done by Arleen Averett, Aleen Christen sen Louise Ericksen and Olive Anderson. An-derson. The closing prayer was offered by Bishop James Larsen. All committees did splendid work in taking care of the old folks and in showing them a good time. |
