The mammoth parade, headed by V Le Roy Christensen as marshel of jbe day, and Elvln Mcintosh as .tandard bearer, left the monument Mmer at 10 o'clock and began the line of "march down Main Street. Outstanding features in the parade ferc the floats depicting the early. Jesuit Fathers, the Indians, a itage-coach, Pioneer family in - a covered wagon, hand cart group, ox-teanw, ox-teanw, the pony express, Uncle Sam's nail, Mormon Battairon, Indian scouts, a pioneer household, modern sad pioneer farming, the coming of he railroad, Daughters of the Pioneers, Pio-neers, Utahns of Tomorrow, Battery D, and many other interesting features. Miss Mary Bjelke as Utah occupied a beautiful float carrying the state emblem and was attended by four little girls. Much amusement was ifforded by Billy Locke as Colonei Llnberg In a minature airplane, a down group, and a bucking Ford. A float from the Lions club gave some Interesting data on Utah indus tries. Aunt Mary Wilcox, aged 9 6.. i pioneer of 1847, was in the first car in a long procession of pioneer?. A sham battle and an Indian dance took place immediately after the parade after which a largely attended attend-ed meeting was held in the North Ward chapel. The afternoon's entertainment ln-tluded ln-tluded children's sports and dancing, ball game, rodeo, horse racing, and tlld west shows..- Boxing contests and dancing -ea-lared the evening.
