Show U. S. Vice Consul in Mexico Shot ' Washington Harold G. Bretherton, American vice consul at Auguascali-entes, Auguascali-entes, Mexico, was shot in the back by an unknown assailant, it was reported re-ported to the state department by Consul Don S. Haven. Secretary of State Kellogg at once instructed the American embassy at Mexico City to ask the foreign office there for an immediate investigation, with the view of punishing the guilty person. The cause of the shooting is not known, but it is generaly believed that the shot was not intended for the vice consul. The wound is not serious. |
