Show STATE MUNICIPAL LEAGUE CONVENTION TO BE HELD HERE II DAYS OF SESSIONS Oil JULY29AND30 Noted. Speakers From Various Parts of State Will Be In Attendance; At-tendance; Visit to Rambouillet Farms Will be Made. The program, for the State Municipal Muni-cipal League Convention to be held ar Mount Pleasant on Wednesday and Thursday, Joily 29th. and 30th, ha been completed, and according to .information sent out by R. N. Young, secretary-treasurer of. the league, th convention will consist of two days of sessions that will be full of valuable valu-able information to City officials. And it might well be added that the people of this city who attend these sessions will he greatly benefited. The morning- session of the first day will be devoted to registration and room assignment. The opening I session commences at 10:10 o'clock and will consist of the usual address o1 welcome and response, report ot 'the secretary and report of the two committees appointed at the last convention to make special report 'at this convention. In the afternoon of July 29th. the first number will be a paper by Alviu Keddington, Auditor of 'Salt Lake City, who will discuss, "Budget Laws of the last Legislature," followed by . an address by Emil Hansen of the Agricultural College of Logan on ''Civic Planning and Zoning," with some information regarding the powers pow-ers and responsibilities conferred by he law passed by the last legislature, -Joseph M. Tracy. City Engineer ot Ogden, will discuss "Equalization ot Special Improvement Taxes," and he 'will be followed by W. H. Bywater, former chief of Salt Lake City Fire Department with a paper on "Flra '.Prevention in Small Communities." The time remaining will be devoted ito a round table discussion of mi9- icellaneous questions presented by i different city officers for consideration. considera-tion. I ; In the afternoon of the first day ,at 5:00 o'clock there will be a ball iganie and at 8:00 o'clock an open air meeting to which the citizens ot , Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding (towns will be invited, which will ba (iddressed by different City officials. There will be a special adress by Professor Elbert D. Thomas of the University of Utah on "The City in History." Professor Thomas's re-juitation re-juitation as a student of civic affairs i.i well known and this address should not be misssed by those desiring de-siring to know how cities have grad-Xially grad-Xially evolved into the tremendous factors they are in" our economic and social life. ! At the morning session, July 30tn former Secretary of Slate, Harden. Tiennlon, will discuss, "Dupulicatloa of Inspection by Cities, Counties and! State." Mr. Bennlon will be followed by Attorney Ray Elsmore of Salt Lake City, who will explain "Regulation "Regula-tion of Social Clubs under the new Jaws." This, in turn, will be followed by a ball at Armory Hall.
