Show Children Musi Attend School Says The Judge Juver.ile Judge Handles Parents Who Do Not Comply With Siatute. It reads: The parents of tire,? families of Richfield with their delinquent school children were handled in th; juvenile court before Judge A. O. Neilson, Friday, November 12th. These parents were brought inti the Juvenile cciunt by Probation Officer A. O. Rasmussen and were charged by Supt A. J. Ashman with failing to comply with the provisions ot Section One of Chapter 9 2 of the Session Laws of Utah. 1919, by "failing "fail-ing to send sa;d juveniles to a regular public or private school at least thirty veeks each school year, unless such minor is legally excused to enter em-nlovment em-nlovment etc." The. parents confessed their tma.btl-ity tma.btl-ity to 'control I their children ;. however, how-ever, the judge held them responsibly The case was continued a? the juveniles juv-eniles informed the court that they preferred attending sclmol regularly the remainder of the year lo having theV parents pay a fine or serve a term in the county jail. A juvenile of Monroo who had been .implicated w'th an ad-i.lt in the steal-iry steal-iry of an automoWle accessory, was arrested by Sheriff Fillmore anrt fined $25.00 by Judge NeM Kin. On account of poverty ar 1 the mother being a widow the court ahaied $10. of the fine. The adult in the case was committed to the county jail for thirty days by the oilier court. |
