Fordieu Is Absent From List of Opposition Paris. M. Callaux's financial plan, in which the essential elements of the experts' report are utilized, was approved ap-proved by the cabinet Tuesday. The plan involves ratification of the American debt accord and settlement of France's debt to Great Britain, a Jieavy increase in import duties, financial fi-nancial readjustment of various departments, de-partments, increased production and strict economies both by the government govern-ment and the people. When the subject is brought before the house, tbe margin in favor of the government may be large or small, according ac-cording as the debate turn. Any majority ma-jority will be regarded as sufficient, however, in view of the fact that there is no party or coalition able to dominate the situation at the present time. A formadable array of talent is lined up against the cabinet. Ten deputies, including the leaders of the Socialist and Communist parties have announced interpellations on the financial fi-nancial problem, while seventeen more are registered to take part in the debate, de-bate, among them the leaders of the "Young Turks," of the Radical party, to whom the Briand-Caillaux cabinet is far from acceptable, as well as the leaders fo the moderate and conservative conserva-tive groups. M. Tardieu, who on Tuesday em-barrassed em-barrassed the cabinet by his unex-pected unex-pected intervention, demanding that if delay were accorded the government, it should not be utilized to negotiate a foreign loan, is absent from the list to the surprise of the general public. He was expected to lead the assault on the government. |
