Show MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND ATTEND LIBERTY DAY CELEBRATION CELE-BRATION AT MT. PLEASANT Independence Day was appropriately appropri-ately celebrated in Mt. Pleasant with a three-day celeihra-tion and home coming .brought to a close Tuesday night and in which more than 5,000 citizens and former .residents of this city .and surrounding communities had participated. The feature of Monday's celebration was the street parade led by the high school band. Many beautiful floats and decorated cars were in line. The Goddess of Lllberty was rep resented by Miss Louise Frandsen. Her attendants, dressed as sailors, yore Jacob Johns-Ion Johns-Ion a. id Holier!. Ras.ni u ssen. Utah was repiesenled by Miss Luella Jor-,;-ensen and she was attended by .lean Mo.isun and lOvclrii Sorensen Coach Ernest BrungCr was marshal of the day, and the motorized equipment equip-ment of Battery D. of the Utah National Na-tional Guard with all men in uniform, un-iform, under command of Capta;n L. R. Chrisleinea, made a very favor able showing. ' The thirteen original orig-inal colonies were represented by thirteen young ladies on horseback and the Twentieth Century Club al so had a fine display in the parade. The Sanpete Coop, Mt. Pleasa.nt's Old Reliable store, conie out in fill: dress and led all the city merchant-with merchant-with a beaut.i-t'uil float. We compliment compli-ment the San.pe-;;. Rodeos, (boxing conKests, horse racing, children's spoils, and bronco buRtipt wore a part of each day's entertaiii'inent. A mammoth display dis-play of fireworks at the city park Monday evening as witnessed by thousands of residents of the county. A ball garne Tuesday afternoon, resulted re-sulted in a victory of Mt. Pleasant over Moroni by a score of 9 to 5. Dances were held each evening at Riverside Park. The celebration which was oai of the most elaborate elabor-ate and successful ever held in the county was sponsored by the local Lions Club, assisted by the city ad-nl'iist ad-nl'iist ration.
