Timber Sales The Excelsior Products Company of Salt Lake have, according to their choppers, between 2500 and 3000 cords of aspen -material cut on the Manti Forest this season. 1000 to 1200 cords of this are in Manti Canyon, Can-yon, about the same amount in Upper Gooseljeirry, and 200 or 300 cords in Ephra'im Canyon." The aspen will peel until about July 15. On some areas it is not difficult for operators to comply with the Forest Service .requirements .re-quirements with regard to the girdling gird-ling of all trees left above a 10" diameter. dia-meter. The reason for requiring girdling is to secure as nearly as pos sible clear cutting oi tne aspen hlauu in order to provide a reestablishment of the stand.
