Show SPRING CITY By far the biggest affair of the week was the reception and ball given at the Lyceum on Tuesday evening, July 31, in honor of the marriage of Miss Ferril Christensen, daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. Jens C. Christensen Chris-tensen of Mount Pleasant, and Mr. George T. Crisp of Spring City. The ball room was crowded to its capacity with relatives and friends of the young couple, wdio came from every town in the valley to join in the merry event. A seven piece orchstra furnished music for the occasion, and light refreshments re-freshments were served during the evening. Mrs. Ellen C. Tuhlgren died in a hospital, in Salt Lake Sunday Sun-day morning, July 29, following follow-ing an operation. She is survived sur-vived by her aged husband, Axel Tuhlgren. Funeral services ser-vices were held in the Spring City Tabernacle, on Wednes day August 1st. A daughter was born July 24th to Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Thompson also a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Puzey July 29th. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beck returned Sunday from an Auto trip to Nevada, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Her-bert Allred. Miss Lavee Nielsen was married mar-ried at Manti July 27, to Floyd Draper of Moroni. A recep tion was held the same evening at the home of the bride's Grandmother,. Mrs. Ellen Niel-son. Niel-son. Mrs. Almina Petersen is visiting relatives in Salt Lake this week. Mrs. E. C. Nelson and children, child-ren, of Roosevelt are visiting at the home of Mrs. Nelson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Petersen. The Lopurice Swarm of the Beehive Girls met at the home of Beekeeper Pearl Davis, Mon day evening, July .10. After the lesson was rendered, games were enjoyed and a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. Those present were: Beekeepers, Pearl Davis, Liona Larsen and Sarah Sorensen and the girls: Dorothy and Fern Fuzey, Etha Madsen, Maud Schofield, Derma Nielsen, Niel-sen, Cora and Ivy Petersen. The Junior class of the Y. L. M. I. A. met at the home of Mannett Allred Monday evening even-ing July SO. The main features fea-tures of the evening were music and games,' and a very delightful luncheon served to the following: Flossie Allred Rhea, Fay, Duretha, and Athene Allred, Laverne Jones, Aleith Jones, Bernice and Hope Blain. Marie and Helen Watson, Lucy Barney, Edith Mickle- Ethel' Aiken, Klea Ny-berg, Ny-berg, Rose Anderson, lone Clark, Grace 01 sen, Cecelia Acord, Miss Graham, Mrs. Margaret Peterson, Mrs. Eva Jones, and Mannett Allred. |
