Show Treasure Hunters Find New Lead Los Angeles Pieces of timber, rotted rot-ted by age, found in a soft streak in hard ground, suggesting they may have formed the walls of subterranean passage, encouraged workers here in a hunt of Spanish treasure. Leaders In the Bearch are Mrs. S. D. Regnier and her brother, Ben Lucero, who believe be-lieve that, somewhere in the passage, they will find a wooden door behind which is hidden a treasure left by their ancestors, a Spanish family, more than a century and a half ago. A convent In early days stood on the now vacant lot where the execavation is under way. Mrs. Regnier and her brother have a map which was given them when their grandfather, Jesus Guerrero, Guer-rero, said to have been 132 years old, died some years ago in Arizona. In his youth he was a messenger traveling travel-ing between missions and pueblos. |
