Show HW CONTEST IS HELD 1IISM The annual W. D. Candland oratorical orato-rical contest was held Sunday evening even-ing in the North ward chapel. The contestants and -thorn- subjects were! as follows: Carol Jones "Revelation"! Jewel Rasmussen "The Divinity of: Joseph Smith's' Mission;" Esther i Coombs "Wiry I Believe the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God"; Paul Rasmussen "The Divinity of the "Book of Mormon"; Elmer Nielsen "The Three Degrees of Glory;" Luc-ile Luc-ile Stewart, "Prayer. All contestants contest-ants are students of the local L. D. S. .seminary. First prize, j,a leather bound bible was awarded to Carol i Jones. Second prize, a bound volume vol-ume o.f church hooks, was awarded; to Jewel Rasniusp.en. Each of the oilier contestants were awarded a copy of "The Articles of Faith" by Talniage. The judges were Dr. Sidney Sperry Gladys Brown, and Royal Stone, all of Moroni. Miss Helen Madsen fur lilshed special ni'usic for the contest program. |
